On November 2nd, St. Edward’s observed the Feast of All Souls and Día de los Muertos. We had guest musicians, a combined bilingual service at 11 am, and a big church potluck lunch afterwards to celebrate the memory of our loved ones. Many parishioners came with photos of their loved ones to place on the altar, despite some difficulties navigating the streets with the NYC Marathon in full swing. Photo are available here.
The weekend of September 21st was a busy one at St. Edward’s. The David Arthur Foundation and the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) celebrated the opening of their shared space, named the David Arthur Center, on the second floor of the parish building. You can view photos of the celebration here.
Also that weekend, the church hosted college students (from Ohio State University and the Rochester Institute of Technology) who were visiting New York City to participate in the People’s Climate March. They slept in the church nave Saturday night, and helped prepare signs and props used as waves that were brought to the march. View photos from the People’s Climate March here.
Our Ash Wednesday service with imposition of ashes will be at 6:30 PM.
We have started to post photos in our brand new photo gallery! The first album contains a selection of photos of documents, photos, and articles from St. Edward’s history. We will also be adding more photos from recent events, including our 130th anniversary fundraiser.
